I’ve not been entirely frank with you
This Whisper I speak of again and again
It is not a call to a life of peace
It’s a call to come and die
It’s a call to abandon the life that you know
It’s like Gandalf’s knock at your door
It arrives in the night and bids you leave without delay
To forsake all that you have and all that you know
To head into the heart of darkness, risking all for the quest
It is a call to suffering
To loneliness, to pain
A call to the most difficult way
So block your ears
Ignore the knock
Stay in bed
Or you will awaken to the bigger picture of life
You will see your role in the world and
It will cost you everything, yes everything
But what an adventure
What discovery
What transformation it will yield
Fear will be undone
Its grip will loosen
Its power over you no more
And you will encounter
The Love at the center of all things
That has been patiently waiting for your arrival
