Look Not At Me

Look not at me

Riddled with deep flaws

Aching wounds

Weakness and failure

Is there something special you see

In my work?

My art?

My life?

It is not me you are drawn to

It is the Light, Beauty, & Goodness

That I so relentlessly seek

Unable to hold them within my broken self

Each day I seek them again

Panting, thirsting, needing

In pursuit of the glimmer on the horizon

Aware of my own emptiness

I press on

Do not idolize this hungry man

Do not cast him aside for his imperfections

Look past him to the horizon and see what he sees

Recklessly abandon all and join the pursuit

The Light is calling us onward.
